This is a slightly altered Amiga port. It's a simple paint program and colouring book. While the Amiga version was ideal for encouraging the creativity of younger aspiring artists, this is hampered by the control method: draw a picture using a remote keypad and it ends up all straight lines and horizontals. With this part of the program rendered almost uselss, you're left with an on-screen colouring book.

The 100 or so line drawings which are there to be coloured are pretty decent, and numbers and alphabet add an educational angle. Yes, it's fun. But it's not special, and it's worse than the Amiga original.

This kids' paint and colouring program MyPaint was great in its original incarnation on the Amiga, but fails sadly as a CDTV disc because it is very very difficult to draw freely with a mouse. When you use the CDTV remote control, all the lines end up being straight or diagonal. The CD version adds a great many more colouring book ideas, but it has to be said that the original floppy disk-based version was much better, so you would be wise to go for that instead.

Solltet Ihr zwischen drei und zwölf Jahren alt sein und Euer Malbuch gerade gegen ein CDTV eingetauscht haben, dann könnte diese Umsetzung etwas für Euch sein: 100 SW-Bilder aus vier Themenbereichen warten darauf, mit einem Kinder-Malprogramm in kunterbunte Kunstwerke verwandelt zu werden.

Unterschiede zur Amigaversion haben wir bis auf den besseren Sound (chug chug macht die Eisenbahn...) und die etwas unhandlichere Steuerung via Joypad keine gesichtet. Als Einführung für kleine Kinder in die Große Welt der Computer ist das Digi-Malbuch ein bißchen teuer, daher denken wir uns, es ist Zum Vergessen.
